These are only some of the dogs that have passed through the farm on their way to a good home. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get pictures of all of them!

Because of the large number of photos on this page, it may take slightly longer to load than would be true in a perfect world!

 

 

Joker is the first Rescue who came to live at the farm, arriving in May of 1997. He has been abused and still suffers some behavioral problems which we continue to work on. His complete story is detailed on our rescue page. Joker will probably always live at the Farm, since he would be difficult to place.

 

 

 

 

 

This is Chew Chewbacca, a Jack Russell cross who came to us from the local pound, having run out of time. He was found on a snowy evening as a very small pup. He was wearing a new choke chain and had apparently been abandoned in a ditch. He was trying to crawl into a 12-pack beer box to stay warm. Had he not been found when he was, he would undoubtedly have frozen to death.

Chewy has since been placed with a loving family, and is now learning to be a bird dog!

 

 

 

 

 

This is Roscoe P. Foster, who wandered into a farm about 30 miles from here. He is a GSD/Pyrenees cross and is HUGE. He has a wonderful disposition.Roscoe was later placed in a good home.

 

 

This is Hans Solo (Solomio) who came to us from the local pound. He ran out of time twice, the first as a small pup. Right before he was to be put down , a young man showed up to adopt him. A few months later, having suffered some major problems in his life, he tearfully surrendered Solo back to the pound. The ACO, who sensed something special about him, called us right before he was to be put down again, and he now makes his home permanently on the Farm, having become obsessed with the man of the house. He is a lab/chow cross.

He is extremely bright and quite sassy, and is capable of moving at speeds that appear to be in the neighborhood of 90mph. He loves to play frisbee and is very smart.

 

This is Cody, our other permanent resident. He is a very large dog, who possesses the abilities of Houdini and the agility of a gazelle. He has a sweet, trusting temperment and everyone who has met him loves him.

Cody was apparently dumped by his owner, or else he escaped and his owner gave up looking for him.

He has a very expressive face and cocks his head from side to side when you talk to him like he's REALLY concentrating on everything you say.

Cody's hips are truly dreadful, and he is on medication for the problem. The prognosis is not favorable, however his sunny disposition keeps him hanging in there!

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is Buddy, a foster boy who was originally placed with a family and then returned to Rottweiler Bros. when the situation changed. Buddy was a loving, exuberant guy, who we believe was either part Swiss Mountain Dog, or a poorly bred one. We lost Buddy in June, 2000, a victim of lymphosarcoma.

 

 

All of the fosters and rescue dogs at RBF are vaccinated and neutered or spayed upon arrival. Adopting families are required to pay these costs. We have served as a temporary foster home for a number of dogs, and also transported several of various breeds to new homes!
